I can't stop thinking about the distressed papered walls in Jamie's Italian; next time I'm in there I'm going to ask who makes the wallpaper. Living in a rented flat means I can't decorate the way i'd like, but I was thinking i could cover a huge canvas in the paper and create a panel to hang on the wall - maybe distress it a bit with some sandpaper... The nesting urge is a strong one these days, not helped by my sister moving in her new house (congrats Abby & Steve!). I'm looking forward to the day when I can knock down walls and make a home that truly reflects me. Until then, I'll make do with some tasty eye candy.

I Haven't stopped thinking about the wallpaper either and am thinking about doing exactly the same with a large canvas - covering it with faded wallpaper and painting my wall a dark grey like he had the paintwork. He is missing a trick not having his own wallpaper range! If you figure out how to do it - let me know, em ;0)

Ever see The English Patient? For years I dreamt of having a room that looked like the room he slept in. In the deserted Italian villa (theme emerging??).
Of course having Naveen Andrews sleeping outside was a bonus.

I haven't stopped thinking about Jaime's Italian since reading about it here and we plan to eat in his Oxford restaurant when we're in town. Squee!!!
I love wallpaper - it wasn't chic for awhile, but I see it more and more and it really makes a room in a way that paint can't.

no way...these walls are out of control gorgeous. i too am inspired for when we move out of this place into an actual home in a proper neighborhood, hopefully in B.C.!! i want a place that evokes the same emotions that my photographs do.
until then, according to a recent commenter on my blog, my home looks like the inside of a Genie bottle. ; ) nice!!
email coming soon. the little dude is distracting me from it these days.
love to you.

when you posted your birthday photo's at Jaime's i literally couldn't stop thinking of that wallpaper either. i am this close to booking a ticket to Bath just to soak in that restaurant... and knock on your door. ; )
looks like a few of us are dreaming of our own nests to build... may it all happen for us, and soon.

i too have been thinking of that wallpaper. these wallpapers actually remind me of my great-grandmother's old farmhouse...but without the mildew smell of the old-farm-ness. i too dream of the day when i don't rent and can create a gorgeous nest-home like these images.

another thought Susannah - we arrange our gathering at Jamie's and the others can distract the staff whilst you and I hide under the table steaming off large sections of wallpaper to take home?
Do you think we are eligible to join "I love Jamie Oliver's wallpaper fan club?"

Just looking at older posts on your blog...and that wallpaper is to die for! Did you have a chance to find out about it yet? I must know where I can get some and transform my bedroom into THAT!
