~ Blogging 3.0 ~

So i guess i touched on something in yesterday's post. Commenting on blogs can be really tiring, don't you think? Thinking up something worthwhile to say, something meaningful, or funny, or just kind and supportive. Sometimes I'd love to be able to leave just a little smiley face in the comments box, as if to say 'hello, i was here and i read your words and thankyouverymuch'. I don't leave as many comments as i used to when i first started blogging. Back then i seemed to have so much more time to chat - or maybe i just read a lot less blogs. These days i skim through words in my Bloglines reader, catching up on the latest news from pals, finding a nugget of inspiration here and there. I get a flash of comment-guilt at least twice a week, when i think about how i could be reaching out so much more, knowing how much i treasure and value every comment i receive here on this blog. Typepad emails me every time someone leaves a comment, and i have a folder in my inbox where i keep all the comments that touched my heart; when i'm feeling blue that folder is like a trip to Happyland.

Anyway, I'm digging No Words Wednesday very deeply and may have to do it again next week. And from now on, if you ever want to leave just a smiley face as a comment, please go right ahead - i'll know what you're saying. :)

hehe this is a good post susannah. i read so many blogs but never comment because i can never think of the perfect thing to say but still want to reach out...just to say 'thanks' or 'hello'. i think smileys are definitely the way to go!

I have 500 blogs in my reader so it's impossible to comment all the time, but I went through this week and made a list of my 80 favorites and it's my goal to comment on at least those - if they're my favorites I can at least let them know. But I do wish there was some way of letting someone know when I comment that I do read every post, I just don't comment every time.
