I don't mind admitting that i have bit of a girl-crush on Danielle LaPorte; I'm never easily influenced by other people, preferring to figure stuff out for myself, but when i find someone who speaks the truth, I listen carefully and make notes. Last year I invested in a Fire Starter Session with Danielle and it turned out to be the best investment I have made in my business so far; I needed to talk through my plans, i wanted to get an expert's opinion on how things were panning out and where to go next, and i got all that and so much more. She's run businesses and a Washington think-tank; she wrote the hugely inspiring book Style Statement and now counsels entrepreneurs with her business savvy and expertise.
But what i appreciate the most about Danielle is how her business wisdom translates into life wisdom. This week sees the pre-launch of her new book, The Fire Starter Sessions, a downloadable e-book, meets video seminar, meets cosmic transmission of love (I'm counting down the days till i get my hands on it - see? I'm a groupie :) If you pre-order this week you'll get a sneak peek of one of the chapters; the worldwide release is on May 12th. If you're self-employed in any way shape or form - or aspire to explore your entrepreneurial side - this is the book for you (and it's tax deductible!)
I interviewed Danielle for my Creative Life series back in November (and answered her Burning Questions in return); wanting to help spread the word about her work I asked her some questions this week, and am thrilled to share her video responses with you over here - enjoy!
Updated: the links to Danielle's book in this post are affiliate links, which means that if you buy her book I'll get a bit of money in return. This is the first and only affliliate link I have signed up for - that's how much I believe in and value her work :)

Susannah - I've followed Danielle off and on for the last year, and I could never make up my mind on whether she was the real deal or a phony (note: I haven't read Style Statement). When you encounter someone as charismatic as she is, it can be hard to distinguish between the two.
You just pushed me into the real deal camp. I'll be pre-ordering the e-book.

Oh, thank you for this, darling girl.
I've recently discovered Danielle and have been pouring over White Hot Truth for the past few weeks.
What an inspirational force of thunder she is.
Thank you for doing this interview, Danielle!

I love Danielle, and can't recommend her incisive wisdom and Fire Starter Sessions too highly.
Those questions and this video rock.
Thanks Susannah.

Thank you Susannah. I love what she says about "feeling" how you will feel when you get to the place you want to be. I am reading "The Secret" at the moment - the whole Law of Attraction thing - that frankly I've been a bit at odds with! However, it says there that you must feel *now*, how you want to feel when you reach your goal, for that is the fuel that takes you - or brings it - to you.
I'll be keeping an eye on Danielle's site today!

When I grow up, I want to be Danielle LaPorte.
I love her sass, her boldness, her courage to put herself out in the world.
I read Style Statement last year, and have been a huge fan ever since.

wow, she is amazing! I read your interview with her a while ago and was really amazed by her then, but seeing her "in person" is really wonderful because she is so calmly, sincerely authentic. Great questions!

I like the way she communicates her feelings and knowledge. She must be a wise woman. I´m thinking in that e-book, it looks like it could help me too.
And I love her thinkings about success and feelings. Coming from the corporative world, where the feelings have to be hidden to be successful I was so happy to listen her point of view. Things are changing and I like it!!!

Hi Susannah, Long time no speak! Thank you for bringing Danielle into my life just when I needed her. As soon as I watched the video I jumped right in and was awake at 5am this morning to keep reading the PDF I downloaded last night. Inspired, inspired, inspired.
P.S. Enjoy this amazing time with your nephew - its like nothing else isn't it?

Hi Susannah - I'm been a fan of Danielle's for a while now and read/watched other interviews but this was my absolute favorite and the best I think I've seen. Truly a combo or excellent, important questions and awesome, honest to the core, no b.s. answers. Absolutely rocked!

I'm so glad you sent an e-mail asking to confirm to be on your newsletter list, otherwise I might not have seen this. She is awesome. I just recently got her book Style Statement and have been reading and answering all the questions to figure out my style statement. Her Firestarter Sessions sound awesome. I have been waiting and wanting to take one of your photo classes too, but it seems everytime you have one, I have had to be out of town for some reason. I will definately be taking one some time soon. Thank you for this wonderful post.
