It's PMS week - oh happy day! Another chance to delve into the depths of my paranoia and monkey-mind while eating chocolate and hating myself. Huzzah! Got so many blog posts i want to share with you, but first i gotta get
through this to-do list. Actually, it's more like a to-do scroll.
I wish i was sitting on that bench right now. Maybe tomorrow... wanna join me? I'll bring the cupcakes.
Welcome to the world, little beautiful baby Noah... I have no words to describe how amazing this little chap is, but I know they will come to me soon. Just need to get a good night's sleep, one of the major perks of being an auntie (you get to come home). But i miss him like crazy, and I miss his mummy even more. She endured a 26-hour labour and was so brave, so amazing, so primal warrior-woman. It was an honour to help bring him into this world; I will never forget how his face looked as he slipped from my sister into the waiting hands of the (lovely and sweet) doctor......

Well, I've been waiting for this day for some time now: the magic-makers at the Impossible Project announced today that we will be able to BUY NEW INTEGRAL FILM on Thursday. THIS Thursday. In other words, they have done it! But it's not that Polaroid has been 'saved' - rather, a new film has been made that will work in our beloved Polaroid cameras. New film, new images, a new era for analogue photography. I'm thrilled beyond belief and can't wait to try the film!
First we get black & white PX 100 and PX 600 film, which will work in SX-70 and 600 cameras respectively. Then later this year they'll be launching a new colour film... be still my heart!
We spent a few precious hours together today, a pocket of sister time where we talked about birth plans, ate pastrami sandwiches, bought a canvas bag (for nappies!) and generally waddled around Bath enjoying the sunshine. When Abby picked me up this morning we discovered we were wearing matching outfits - the only differences were that i had my jeans tucked into my Uggs, and my sister had a gigantic basketball hidden under her blouse... not long to go now!
I'm finding it incredibly difficult to keep my focus at the moment. I can only think about three things: the impending birth, the anniversary and the not-so-secret project I'm working on. There's no room in my head for anything else. Having said that, thoughts of my return to London keep elbowing their way to the front, as i fantasise about the sort of flat i hope to find and the places i want to visit with my Polaroid in hand. But, honestly, it's like waiting for the Christmas to end all Christmases when you're nine-years-old. And drinking coffee non-stop ;)
If you're on my mailing list you already know this, but i wanted to share here too: registration for the Spring Unravelling: Ways of Seeing My Self class will open in T-minus 22.5 hours. I'm trying a (slightly) newer system this time - 24 hours warning, Twitter announcements and a staggered enrollment. As the class always sells out so quick I'm trying to find the best way to make the sign-up process as fair as I can - we'll see how this works out tomorrow! More details here.
TheKiwis treated me to a champagne lunch for my birthday yesterday, so it was doubly special to then come home and find all your birthday comments - thank you so much!
Last year i woke up to snow on my birthday; today we have blue skies and sunshine, which in itself would have been enough to lift my spirits, but then i logged into my email and found this:
Those beautiful women are from my Summer 2009 Unravelling class - can you believe they did this?! I still can't and have the dried tears on my cheeks to prove it! Thank you ladies, you have touched my heart forever!
So, 37-years-young. I just looked back at last year's birthday to-do list and enjoyed crossing off the items I've achieved, and shook my head at how many were left yet to be done. This year's list was scrawled in my diary last night, and reading it back it see that it's a rather do-able practical list... but that's okay. I like the idea of this next year being do-able - bring it on!
